History

As of March 28, 2006, Istanbul Bilim University started its education in Vocational School of Health Services. Medical Imaging Techniques Program is active since the foundation of our school. The education period is 2 years and the language of instruction is Turkish. On average, our Medical Imaging Techniques Program, which has a quota of 30-40 students per academic year, continues its unique, effective role model education from the beginning.

To be placed in the Vocational School of Health Services with high school diploma and TYT score type of the University Placement Exam.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

In formal and non-formal practice, formal application is made on the basis of "Regulation on the principles of transfer between associate degree and bachelor's degree programs, double major and minor credit transfer between institutions in higher education institutions" determined by Higher Education Institution.

Completion of a total of 124 ECTS credits is sufficient for graduation, provided that all courses and summer internships in the 2-year education program are achieved.

Profile of The Programme

The aim of the Medical Imaging Techniques Program is to prepare the medical imaging devices and the environment for radiographic examination in radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and to train the competent health manpower needed. Radiological In the imaging centers, angiography, magnetic resonance, computed tomography, mammography can be applied in areas such as learning, qualified radiology technicians are lacking elements. In this direction, the main aim of the program is to train radiology technicians who will help them to gain qualified staff in the health sector. In Medical Imaging Program; Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution-I, Turkish Language-I, Foreign Language-I, Anatomy-I, Physiology-I, Pharmacology, Rational Medicine, Medical Terminology, Health Law, Occupational Health and Safety, Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution-II , Turkish Language-II, Foreign Language-II, Anatomy-II Physiology-II, Infectious Diseases and Control, Medical Imaging-I, Radiation Safety and Radiation Protection Physics, X-ray Physics and Device Structure, First Aid, Medical Imaging-II, Radiological Anatomy, Radiotherapy, Factors Affecting Quality in Radiology, Quality in Health Services, Accreditation and Patient Safety, Medical Imaging-III, Nuclear Medicine Imaging Methods, Shooting Techniques in CT and MRI, Diseases Information, Computer Systems courses are given. In addition to the courses and year-on-year applications, the students are required to do 30 summer internships in the imaging units of the hospitals.

The students who have completed 2 years of education are given the title of “Medical Imaging Technician 2. Radiology department is located in almost every hospital in our country. In addition, the number of private imaging centers is increasing day by day. Public institutions and private hospitals and polyclinics constitute a serious employment alternative for this program. opportunity to work at public institutions and private hospitals and clinics.

Access to Further Studies

Medical Imaging Program students can transfer to the undergraduate programs of Nursing and Health Management with Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).

The examination, evaluation and evaluation criteria made during the education and training period of the program are given in the T.C. Facilities

Our Vocational School carries out basic science education with 13 classrooms and 3 application laboratories (with advanced technological equipment). We have a computer lab with 1 PC per computer connected to the Internet per student and 7 database servers that provide access to basic books, medline and electronic journals for each program and 81.000 e-books. Practical trainings; Florence Nightingale hospitals with 225 beds, which are the educational hospital of our university, are also used for the purpose of application. The Group Florence Nightingale provides a job opportunity for students who graduate as Medical Imaging Technician.
