Objectives of the Course

The course aims to develop the ability of nursing care to improve, protect and sustain of child health. In case of impairment of health, it helps to gain the ability of identification - evaluation of problems and nursing care.

2 Understand the significance of Basic health services. They learn and explain national and international indicators about children
3 Know that they should examine the children with their environment , family and related age group.
4 Have the ability of working collaboratively with their colleagues and other health disciplinary.
5 Give the suitable and qualified nursing care in pediatrics application areas
6 Have the ability of giving education and consulting children and family to protect and improve health care.
7 The students who are attended this course will be able to make safe drug applications in children.

Course Contents

The course of Pediatrics Nursing contains :integrating the basic knowledge and principles of the student with the basic concepts, theories and principles related to Pediatrics,the health needs of the community and the philosophy of our school can be examined according to the age groups of children,at every stage of the health care. The aim of this course is to gain the necessary level of knowledge and skills to meet the care needs of the family with a holistic approach by using professional nursing roles.

3 Healthy and risky newborn and nursing care
4 Nutrition during childhood, nutrition disorders at children and nursing care
5 Fluid-electrolyte and acid-base balance disorders at children and nursing care
6 Respiratory system disorders at children and nursing care
7 Midterm exam
8 Mid term exam
9 Circulatory system diseases at children and nursing care
10 Gastrointestinal system diseases at children and nursing care
11 Urinary system diseases at children and nursing care
12 Hematological and endocrin system diseases at children and nursing care
13 Neurological and connective tissue diseases at children and nursing care
14 Oncological diseases at children and nursing care
15 Final exam
