Objectives of the Course

Gaining of knowledge about the physiological mechanisms of the heart and the circulation and to understand the changes that may occur in diseases and special conditions.

Learning Outcomes

1 Comprehends physiology of cardiac muscle, cardiac cycle and conduction system of the heart.
2 Explains characteristics of normal electrocardiogram, methods for recording electrocardiogram and vectorial analysis.
3 Comprehends functions of circulation, micro circulation and lymphatic system.
4 Explains control of blood flow, blood pressure and short term and long term regulation of blood pressure.
5 Explain heart valves, heart sounds and abnormal circulatory dynamics in valvular heart disease.
