Objectives of the Course

To gain information about organization of nervous system, special and somatic senses, motor functions of central nervous system, the role of limbic system, the autonomic nervous system and cerebrospinal fluid.

Learning Outcomes

1 Comprehends organization of nervous system, types and role of sensory receptors and neuronal circuits for processing information.
2 Comprehends somatic sensations including tactile and position senses, pain and thermal sensations and special senses such as vision, sense of hearing and chemical senses.
3 Comprehends motor functions of then spinal cord, brain stem, cerebellum and basal ganglia.
4 Comprehends intellectual functions of the brain, states of brain activity and basic mechanisms of learning and memory.
5 Comprehends the autonomic nervous system functions, cerebral blood flow and cerebrospinal fluid system.
