Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to teach students identify the major problems and needs of critically ill patiens, provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients with different acute and life threatening conditions following nursing process

| 2 | Ability to have sufficient knowledge about acute respiratory failure and care for the patient on mechanical ventilation |
| 3 | Knows the risk factors for healthcare-related infections that may develop in patients in intensive care and applies nursing care. |
| 4 | Knows the precautions to be taken against pressure injuries that may develop in intensive care patients. |
| 5 | Knows the nutritional problems that intensive care patients may experience |
| 6 | Understands how to propose solutions to ethical problems that may occur in intensive care within the framework of legal legislation. |

The course include of role of the critical care, ethical and legal issues in the delivery of critical care, positioninig in the critical care unit, respiratory and ventilatory assessment, hemodynamic monitorization, neurological, pain, sedation, and delirium assessment, pressure ulcer and venous thromboembolism, healthcare-associated infections, and hypotermia
