Objectives of the Course

This course aims to introduce psychology as a behavior science with its bio-psycho-sociocultural ways. Historical development of psychology, approaches in psychology and the contributions of these approaches to the psychology field, research methods, qualifications of scientific information, cognitive and emotional processes that have roles on forming the behavior and their functions will be taught during this course.

3 Applies general psychology knowledge to phsiotherapy and rehabilitation phenomena.

5 Produces solutions for problems of his field by the newly acquired knowledge and abilities.
6 Establishes collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
7 Supports the field with research by following the literature and knowledge of scientific method.
8 Reflects his individual and social sensitivity to the facts with the conscious of responsibility.

Course Contents

Definition of Psychology, its objects and basic principles, basic approaches, research methods, criterias of scientific information, the processes that form the behavior, perception and its basic characteristics, conscious and changing conditions, sleep, learning and types, memory, motivation and social psychology concepts are the contents of this course.
