Objectives of the Course

To provide students to be trained as a good physiotherapist Orthopedics and Traumatology. Learning Outcomes

1 Establishes the approach algorithm to the patient presenting with possible bone tumor. Knows the right approach and correct diagnosis and treatment options for the patient with fracture and dislocation.
2 Knows to approach the patient with bone and joint deformities with the correct algorithm.
3 Knows the approach algorithm to the trauma patient applying to the emergency.
4 Knows the diagnosis and treatment options of the extremities and joint deformities caused by neurological diseases.
5 Knows muscle and skeletal system injuries and treatment plans.
6 Knows the correct approach to acquired and congenital musculoskeletal disorders

Course Contents

This course is supported by a large number of case examples, visually enriched, students participate in interactive discussions with case discussions. To teach the mechanisms of fracture and dislocations, to ensure that the first approach and treatment options are chosen correctly To teach conservative and surgical treatment options in fractures and dislocations To teach the complications and treatment of fractures and dislocations. To teach muscular and tendon joint injuries and treatment plan To know the symptoms of bone tumors and lesions and to teach them the approach that was born To teach diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired deformities To teach neurological patients and their deformities and methods to correct these deformities

Weekly Detailed Course Contents

1 Knee problems (ACL, PCL and collateral ligament injuries, meniscus injuries, patellofemoral problems, bursitis, fractures and dislocations)
2 Musculoskeletal tumors, amputation, disarticulation and orthoses-prostheses
3 Injury and healing mechanisms of tendons, ligaments and bones in terms of musculoskeletal system
4 Shoulder problems (General principles, impingement syndrome, rotator cuff problems, adhesive capsulitis, acromioplasty, shoulder instability, shoulder prostheses fractures)
5 Spinal problems (Fractures, disc herniations, deformities, congenital problems and scoliosis)
6 Hand and wrist problems (flexor and extensor tendon injuries, nerve compression syndromes, nerve injuries, arthroplasties, dupuytren syndrome, finger deformities, Reflex sympathetic dystrophy)
7 Midterm Exams

9 Foot and ankle problems (Sprain, fractures, Achilles tendinitis, rupture, ligament injuries, finger deformities)
