Objectives of the Course
The purpose of this course is to give information about:The history of public health , Basic and clinical sciences of public health and the principles of preventive medicine, At the same time it aims:To gain awareness about environmental health To explain risky health behaviors; protection from sexually transmitted diseasesTo give information about the main elements of primary care (Prevention, Diagnosis,Treatment and Rehabilitation)

Description of Public Health, primary-secondary-tertiary protection methods, Basic health services, In preventive medicine importance of immunization, treatment of infections, Environmental Health, the importance of drinking and potable water, disinfection of water and the prevention of food borne diseasesPrevention of air pollution, measures can be taken in this regard, the negative effects of pollution on human health and the environment, The epidemiology of smoking, the negative effects of smoking on human health,Community screening ,especially newborn metabolic screeningRisky sexual behaviors, protection from sexsually transmitted diseases The methods of family planning and it's importance.The population policies implemented in Turkey
