Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide the students with knowledge about informatics, information systems, health informatics and related topics; to explain the transition period to information society and to define the characteristics of information society; to explain the topics of knowledge management process and types, knowledge management practices in health, electronic health records, development of health information applications in the world and Turkey, coding and classification of health data; to improve the ability of students to access and use scientific knowledge.

Course Contents
This course includes basic concepts in informatics, health informatics, transition to information society, classification of information and knowledge management, technology management, information literacy, effective use of the internet and computer technologies, information systems used in health institutions, health transformation, Ministry of Health eHealth applications and projects , current applications in health informatics (telemedicine, mobile health).
